About
A career built around endocrine and metabolic medicine.
Dr Abouglila trained in diabetes, endocrinology and general internal medicine in the northern region, and holds an MD from the University of Birmingham alongside membership and fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians. His doctoral research examined autoimmune thyroid disease at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the University of Birmingham — work that continues to shape how he approaches thyroid patients today.

What to expect
A thorough first consultation
Initial appointments allow time for a full history, examination and review of previous investigations. Where tests are needed, they are arranged the same day wherever possible.
A clear written plan
You and your GP receive a letter setting out the diagnosis, the reasoning behind it, and the treatment plan — in language intended to be read by you, not only by clinicians.
Continuity of care
Endocrine conditions are usually long-term. Follow-up is with Dr Abouglila personally, in clinic or remotely, whichever suits you better.
